CES 2007

I have been pretty careless about CES over past years. This year there are a few products that draw my attention.

This 40GB portable storage can store pictures directly off from several different types of memory cards. During China trip, I felt 2GB wasn’t enough for RAW pictures. I was going to buy another 2GB CF card, but as soon as I saw this, I changed my mind. Furthermore, $129 is very attractive price.

I have been thinking of getting ESATA external dual drive bay for my picture storage, and DriveStation Quattro drew my attention. There will be two versions available: 1TB for $600 and 2TB for $1000. It is very attractive price, but the downside is drives are not swappable. Buffalo has TetraStation models, supposed to be hot-swappable, thus I will definitely check them out.

Samsung LCD TV

Well, I want a larger TV in our living room because the living room is way too big for TV we have. ^_^;

Lastly, if you are wondering why I am not mentioning anything about iPhone from Apple, Inc…

I don’t know. It looks slick, but I will have to see how useful the touch screen will be. Also if it can connect to the Internet, I want a keyboard without sacrificing the size of screen. And I am not sure if I want to pay $500 for a phone. Sure, iPhone isn’t only the phone, and probably I will be able to get a huge discount. But I think it is just too much. Not having Exchange support is another minus to me. At least, I want to check my email, schedule and my contacts from corp server when I am away from the office.
